The Visualizations section in User Document explains how to interact with the 3D View.
Rotations look to happen around the world origin only.
Is there any way to make rotation happening around another reference such as an object or the current target view point?

Hi,
Yes, you can move the center of these 3D view interactions to any point. The user interface allows that either from the annotations context menu (e.g. for meshes, but also simple ones like lines). The ultrasound display controller (the toolbar that opens up when a US sweep is loaded) also does that when you click the “Center” button (icon with four arrows).
